Need Info On Stock Strut Shock

Just switch back to stock shock & spring, feel like firmer than use to be, like illuminas set on 2 (maybe I forgot how was the stock ride, been too long)

Here is my question:
1) isn't stock shock / strut shaft reject (push up) slowly if fully push down (compare to Tokico)
2) do you need to give the shock a few a stroke b4 installation (been sitting in the garage for too long)
3) which is a good shock that similiar / give stock comfort
4) heard some knock sound when go over big bump, what would that be?

thanks.

bumper shocks worn out or have excessive clearance

you mean the bumper shock = bump stop?
Where is the excessive clearance occur at?
recently I had put in new strut mount, new rubber spring seat & new control arm, except the strut was 80k miles & spring 130k miles on it.
thanks for the heads up.

i was just being a jackass. My apologies bud!
Sway bar links are common. Also you have tweaked the struts and shocks and there could be noise coming from that too if not done properly or parts are failing. Hard to say!

I just test drive my friend 2000 SE today, his has the same problem, worst than mine, also came from front passenger side.
I am suspecting might be the spring / strut issue because I had took it out and reassemble many times at past try to find the best combo lowered ride, now back to stock and it doesn't feel stock anymore.

forgot to mentioned that the new control arm does help reduce the knock sound when go over bump, best $120 (self installation) I spend on this car.

Stock shocks are very stiff. I switched from HP back to stock cause the HP valving is to soft, yet most people on the org seem to state they are 10% stiffer then stock.(NOT TRUE)...Maybe the KYB GR2 might be close to stock, but stay away from HP............I you can just get OEM ones from nissan
