Headlights

I want headlights like the 02/03 With HID's on my 01. But dont want the ricey look of projector lenses & halo's. Any advice on where to pick up a pair of classy oem style headlights possibly smoked??
Thanks in advance,
JHass

Anyway, thats pretty much your only options unless you want to pay alot. You could always go to the dealership, call some salvage yards or like he said, check ebay or the classifieds.
Look what I did in less than 10sec.....

And here's a way to make them smoke.....

That pretty much what you're looking for?

There are only OEM ones which are silver, people tend to paint the inside black for looks. They only came in one style. Just an FYI stay away from the Depot ones. they are 495 on ebay

LOL this dude is super sarcastic, but its very amusing. All questions you have can and have been answered in the first few threads shown on the first page. I know you want a quick answer but you will obtain more accurate info if you look threw a few threads and see what others have to say that have already done the install, been burnt with bad fitment, etc.

btw, these headlights fit all 5th gen, but 00/01 have to go through a little extra work to work. Still worth the troubles though.

amen to that...

JHASS, you wont find smoked out lights, that you must have to do yourself... it doesn't take more than a few hours, it shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, they will fit your 01, but with a bit of work. Either way, if you need to find out how to install them, there are many threads out there that show the process. You are one of many to have done or wish to do this.

What actually looks good? well, that's up to you. Anything can look good, but honestly, it's your max, and you'll be driving it, so whatever floats your boat man.

Don't give sarcasm please. I speak for myself when I say this, I joined this org because I own a max, and I'm here to ask for help, and give help among other issues.

Once you find what you want, search the org, and you'll find a topic that talks about "how to do" or "I Guinea pig'ed myself and here are the results"

Agreed. JHASS, read, read, and read through the forums. Almost anything you need is on this site and THEN if you look and look and can't find it, post a thread. Or you will be harassed/shunned by soonerfan. Try to take it as active criticism, soonerfans knows his stuff.

not to hijack or anything but what's wrong with the depot ones?

I know I heard bad things about the output of the black angel eye projector ones but nothing about the depot...I thought they were supposed to be close to oem replacements?

fitment on the depot ones aren't as good as oem...they don't sit very flush and stuff. also, members that have had it complained the light output and the beam pattern is horrible. i had a set but i put a set of tsx projectors in it so i'm not sure about the output with the reflector. the quality just isn't as good as oem. ballasts and bulbs seems to be good but the placement is weird...kinda backwards =/
