$500....TCM

Searched, so relax.

Recently I've been getting 'first start of the day' tranny slippage and a code once every blue moon or so. Once erased, the code won't reappear unless a very hard shift, in the earliest of morning. When relating my symptoms to other .org members, I'm pretty sure that the 'TCM' issue is for my car as well.

My question for you fine citizens, is exactly what and how can I go about this whole TCM issue? Am I going to have to go to a tranny shop or is this something I can do myself?

Thanks.

Maybe you searched, but you didn't do enough research. If you did you would know the answer It's right behind the stereo, and very easy to do yourself.

Check the classifieds on here for possibly a used one, or www.car-part.com

www.pamsauto.com has one of these for 124.99. I went there looking for an ECM.

Before I got rid of my 00 with the same problems I too looked into the TCM issue. I cant remember exact price but it was near 500 I believe been a while though. From what I hear of people that have replaced to the upgraded unit it was well worth it. Should install at a tranny cooler at the same time......
