6-speed clutches...How long has your's lasted?

I've got an '02 with 78k miles on it. It's been driven in heavy traffic all of it's life. Tonight on my way home from work the clutch felt different to me. It could have been the heat, but I don't know. Just didn't feel like it was engaging the way it normally does. It chatters a lot when taking off from first, but then so did my '92 Max and that clutch was still going strong when my wife totaled the car at 138k miles. Of course I might just be worrying over nothing.

I have no idea how long the clutches in these 6-speed Max's usually last. 50k, 100k, 200k miles? It seems to me that most clutches in most cars go for at least 100k miles, even if driven primarily in the city. This assumes not much abuse of course.

6-speed Maxima owner's speak up. How many miles are on your stock clutch?

I have 83,000 on my '03 and no problems whatsoever with the clutch.

My '99 had that same chatter you are talking about. It started around 55-60k, but the clutch didnt fail until 193,000 miles.....thats when I got rid of it.

87k and still pretty strong. I have been to the dragstrip a few times and enter heavy traffic on a weekly basis.

105k. Driven all highway till only the last 2 months. Now commute in heavy stop and go traffic. Deffinately notice a difference when the clutch heats up after 1/2 hour of stop and go. It feels like it engages differently when hot, doubt the clutch is going.

This is probably all I was feeling last night. Strange though that it's the first time in 2+ years I've noticed. This morning though the clutch felt normal again.

2002 approaching 130,000 on Stock Clutch. Can feel slight chatter if you press it in slightly while driving; i dont think thats completely normal but its still working fine and i've had the car since 102,000 and i know its been "Driven" since then!

2002 105,000. Still runs fine, but under hard driving I can feel it slipping for a sec. I may go on and replace it this summer.

84k, and it seems to be engaging a bit lower than before. there's about 1 1/2 in. of no feeling at the top of the pedal travel....might have to replace it soon.

from what i understand, it all depends on how you drive it.. i got my car used and it has 60k on it now.. i'm assuming it's still the original clutch, and it's working fine

there is no such thing as a 6-speed clutch.

there is a clutch

and

there is a 6-speed transmission

i've got around 109 000km on my car, my clutch isn't perfect, but works. I'll have it replaced this summer b/c my tranny is on its way out.

80k on my '02 and no issues at all, 50% heavy traffic/50% highway since I've owned it.
