no throttle response???

So I take my car out tonight and I'm not exactly being easy on it. I take it in to second kinda hard to get a feel for my clutch and how it is holding up. As soon as it goes in second I loose all throttle response... I mean NOTHING. I keep it at idle in first back to my house. I turn it off for about 5 minutes and start it back up and it's working again!? I have no idea on this one folks. I did some searching but the only possible diagnosis I found is a bad MAF or alternator and I really don't see either of those causing this issue... Any help would be awesome. Thanks a lot!
Josh

Have you checked codes... did you check all connections to the TB? Did you try restarting the car on the road (when it first happened). Has it happened since? Is it running fine now?

Answer all those first and we MIGHT be able to help you............................ Noob...

Still haven't been able to check codes, Checked connections to TB and when I did everything was good. I unplugged the connections to see what would happen and the problem wasn't the same. When I say I had nothing I don't mean it bogged... I mean nothing. It was almost like the throttle wire came off if it were a 5th gen. Because it's a 5.5 I'm lost on what could cause it. I tried restarting when it first happened and still nothing was happening. Once I got home and let it sit for about 5 minutes, it started. It hasn't heppened since and it is running great now. BTW... Can you get me a quote on a cat?

My buddy who has a 02 auto has had this same problem...
whenever he gets on it, the drive by wire freaks out and he's at idle... no more than 20mph.
I think stealership said it was an accelerator sensor, but I didn't speak with them and he's not exactly mechanically inclined haha.

Investigate and let us know.
Only then can we help

Get the codes, but my guess is APPS (1 or 2) or TPS (1 or 2).
