Here are some pics. I took an old leather cellphone holder and bent the belt clip in the back at a 45deg angle, then pinched it where the bottom of the ashtray closes. It works perfectly for holding the cellphone and I don't have it rattling around in the cup holder. I can even open the ashtray and close it without too much trouble.

Spare change!
OT:
The only person who smoked in my car is one of my friends that followed one of my chick friends that i had let borrow the keys to my car(never again), cuz she needed to get something out of my car... When i found out that he was smoking in my car, i was about to beat the living **** out of him.

I Installed a nav unit in the existing ashtray area. It matches the titanium and black trim from the titanium edition maxima. The unit was fairly inexpensive but works well, I also installed a very small radio shack speaker near the sunglass holder, using the exisitng plug in speaker adapter on the unit itself. It is hardwired and will turn off 5 min after the vehicle is off. ran the speaker through the passenger pillar then to the gsunglass holder for better sound due to the reg nav speaker being on the rear of the unit. It looks soooo good at night. Like it was a factory peice get many comments on it. I may take a night shot.

my new ash tray

well after debating on loosing my change holder, i went ahead and made my switch panel

started out as a rectange of thin aluminum

ended up with 8 holes, and powdercoated black

installed, i also took the counter weight from the pocket thing, and glued it to the new peice, so now it stays closed, and also stays opend.

why 8 switches? yes mabey overkill but.

xbox powersupply on
xbox on

radiator fans high

nitrous arm
bottle heater
purge

and 2 left over for unknown

still yet to hook up the other switches

but it moves perfect, the switches clear when closed. i love it, prolly the one of the best jobs i did, very clean. and now my switches will not even be seeen i love it!!!!!!!!!!! i think the powdercoat touch made it!! if it was alum it would not flow with my car, all blacked out, but for other it might of worked!!

that looks sick, it was thinking about doing something like that...how do the wires behind the panel not get pinched when you close the door?

I have an ashtray? Oh, yea. That thing I forget is even there. I don't think I've even opened it once.

*Runs out to car to see what ashtray looks like*

... I found a nickel! So that's what's been rattling for years!

I put the Ipod integration for my Avic D3 in there. I dremelled the area out from behind, epoxied the cable harness down and sealed it with black sealant.

With Ipod
