Rotors and Pads....again

About four years ago, I changed my pads and rotors to Powerslot (Cryo) and Hawk. Now, Im going through some more "warpage" issues. Ive already had my current front rotors turned once about 2 years ago and now they are beginning to do the same judder at high speeds. Beyond that, my pads are due to be changed out. I will not be replacing them with Hawk HPS as they have now, so I have to find a suitable replacement.

Anyway, I know our maximas warp rotors like crazy. I like the Cryo rotors I have now, and wouldnt mind replacing them with the same thing, but what to do about pads? Ive looked at the Akebono pads, but I dont like the decrease in stopping power. Ive also looked at the Axxis pads, but Ive had those before and they howl like mad. I dont need anything for street racing - just standard high-spirted driving is enough for me. I want something that had low dust, maxiumum stopping power and the least amount of squeel as possible (dont we all????).

Sorry if this is one of those posts that crops up every other day - but I havent been around too often, and have lost touch with whats out there. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

thanks in advance!

Check out housecor's site it's got some great info on pad/rotor choices.

I feel your pain.

My approach:

I have a full set of extra rotors. They are cut, the hub area painted with black high-temp spray paint, and in the garage ready to be swapped out. The rotors that are on the car get taken to Pep-Boys where I tell the guy to cut the bare minimum off (I explain why and they understand) then put them in the garage for the next time.

The brake pads I sand down by putting a sheet of 60 grit sand paper on top of a granite 12x12" tile (nice flat surface) and by hand with circular motions I smooth out the face of the pad. Brush off the grit, and presto, ready to be reinstalled with the fresh rotors.

Fast and easy.

YOU DO NOT WARP ROTORS its a build up of brake pad material on the rotor

So really our only option is the 350Z or 6th gen max rotors???

And we can just buy any year 6th gen rotors and put them on the car or is there a kit required??
I just walk into a store and say 05 max rotors and then use them on my 03 with the procedure being the same for 350z???

If you turned your rotors two years ago, sounds like they've lasted quite a while.
I usually change mine every 2 and a half years.

Look into ceramic pads, they have good stopping power and seem to be more gentle on the rotors. I picked up a pair of ProStop Ceramics for $50 at Pep Boys, and have already noticed better initial bite and pedal feel with the change.

Look on ebay, I picked up Powerstop ceramic pads & d/s rotors for 220 shipped. 2-1/2 months, so far so good.
