Tire rubbed a hole in my fender liner..

My PR CAI causes the liner inside the driver side wheel well to stick out ever so slightly, but with S-Techs when turning the wheel all the way to the right it rubs and over time my tire has rubbed a hole through it exposing my cai filter. I want to order a new liner before I come up with a fix for the problem, but I don't know what exactly that part is called. It's the black plastic piece that is inside the wheel well in front of the tire. If anyone can tell me the part number or at least the name so I can find it myself I would appreciate it. Any ideas on how to fix it when I do get the new liner would be even more appreciated.

Left side wheel well liner, 63841-2Y900, $44.70 from Courtesy, cheaper from Dave.

They call them 'front fender protectors'.

That's for a 5th gen though, if you have a 5.5 it's 63841-5Y700, but the same price.

To fix the problem (which I don't know is a common issue with the PR's but I've never heard of it) just try to clock it so it doesn't push the liner out at all. It's the same way with most FI kits for the Z/G, without the proper adjustments made, the fitment can seem to be very poor and cause things like this to happen (ATI, I'm looking at you... )

Anyway, just play around with it, surely you can find some way to secure it and align it such that it no longer pushes the liner out.

How big of a filter are you using? Or is the filter low on the intake pipe?

Use your existing liner as a template and cut a clearance for where the PR CAI is rubbing. Pull it out and cut the same clearance no the new liner and you are gold.

Make sure you get the plastic clips when you order it. The ones you have on are most likely very brittle and will break. There are a couple odd clips that are specific to that part. How do I know? I had to change this on my Max before....it was very easy, just took about 15 minutes.
