I guess my only question is why do you need so much light on your liscense plate?
OVERKILL
Would it not make sence the less light the better?
That way the pigs have to be right on your nutz to run your tag?...
In addition anyone who wants to see your tag would in theory be behind you so would not their headlights illuminate your tag?

Here's mine, just a 4 led 194 bulb, I like how it gives enough light to be legal. But it is not Overkill blinding like some of the others

Where did you get these?

If you notice, the middle of the plate is not fully illuminated. This is the "short comings" of some led lights out there. I will be getting mine from vled but I hope yours are not from there. Please reply asap.

Arek.

Hi, there appears to be several different 194 bulbs at v-leds.com. It would nice if you could tell us which version of the bulb you bought.

Thanks.!!

wouldn't lighting up your plate that much at night cause to much reflection when other cars are behind you?

If the police want to run your plate, they will one way or another. Not everyone here is paranoid like yourself to do this mod in fear of "the pigs" reading your plates. If you obey the law, who cares if they run your tags?

The IS250/350's as well as the rest of new Lexus models have them stock. I have driven behind the white pearlescent ones, and there's no distracting reflection. That look flows especially well because it brings out the pearlescent hues at night. For such a simple mod, it really makes your car stand out.

i have a question. Ok so i wanted to change my license plate light bulb to LED. i purchased a 67 bulb which is a small version of a 1156. looks like this : http://www.hidlightsusa.com/images/g18-9w_sample.jpg

when i recieved it i pluged it in the brake lights to see if it works first since its similiar to 1156. and they worked so i pluged it into the license plate and of course you dunno if it works till nighttime. Only it didnt turn on. Can someone help me out, is there soemthing else im suppose to be doing. The bulbs work find, theres nothing wrong with my wiring or anything. put the OEM bulbs back they work. but for some reason the LED bulbs do not work. Someone give me some imput!

Well judging by your sig and your mentioning of a 67 bulb, you are referring to installing these on your 3rd gen. I know with the 5th gen (168 or 194 bulbs), the polarity of the bulbs allows them to work only one way, but I'm not sure about 67 bulbs. Try asking in the 3rd gen forums, as I believe this thread refers to 5th gen Maximas.

Why is the information on this board always soo incomplete? The link that was provided to ebay has long expired and there is no mention, or even a request for the sellers name. What gives? Lets get the sellers name. Even the peeps buying from Vled or superillumination never give the bulb type they ordered etc. If anyone checks on vled they see several different bulb types. Lets go!@!!

I see that everyone has the LED board for there license plate lights. I ordered the inverted cone style LED for mine and they produce the perfect amount of light. They actually look like the ones that the new Lexus have.

Hi what do you mean the inverted cone style? And where or who did you get them from and for how much.

Thanks.

Dr.Omed.

They are LEDs with and inverted cone tip. I got them from V-LEDs for $1.99 for 2. They are ultra cheap and excellent for the license plate lights.

its because LED require very little energy to turn on so when you have it set to door it technically has a current flowing to it making the leds glow slightly, usually a resistor does the trick, but nothing to worry about it wont drain anything.

Why do people blur/block their license plate #'s? You think people sit on these forums somehow looking up plate #'s, then driving across country somewhere, and stealing your LED's?

I dont understand what could be going through a cops head when he decides to pull someone over for led liscense plate lights. It happens all the time around me. The lights help them see the plates better, so why would they have a problem with this?

I've got the cheap ones from hong kong. They were $4 shipped. There blue-ish, and pretty bright too.
