Based on all the pictures I saw, the ES Motor Mount bushings seem to have a hole directly in the center of the bushing, while the OEM ones don't. phatman95's thread shows the difference between them is 1/4":

I am just going by the FSM and images I have seen and trying to imagine all this in my head before I go ahead with the ES bushings... but doesn't this cause any fitment issues? What makes up for the difference? Will the engine sit differently because of this?

No issues as far as I know, and many people are using them, myself included. Yes, the motor does sit slightly lower, but you won't have a problem bolting the subframe piece back up.

would a symptom of worn out motor mounts be a bit of jarring/rocking back and forth when going slow in first gear and lifting off the gas quickly?

that's something that I have experienced with all manual cars I have driven... although I do feel it more in my 2k3. I think it might have something to do with the drive by wire. Although... my guess would be that bad mounts could make the rocking worse.

WRONG!

When you put the motor on the OE mounts they just sag right to the middle, When you put it on the ES mounts it stays right where it belongs.

The motor mounts were one of the first mods I did. Since then, I've done exhaust, headers suspension etc... and never had a fitment issue with the mounts.

Anyway, regardless, I think the point is that using ES mounts doesn't cause any fitment issues.

i have a little more room between the FSTB and upper plenum with the ES mounts than I did with the OEM
