CAI ramair for the track idea

I noticed that if you remove the sidemarker you can see the CAI filter. It may look strange but I figure you can modify a small scoup that fits where the side marker is and ram air right into the filter.

Anyone have an old side marker they don't want. It can even have broken lenses. (any ooglie clears gone bad)

Would the scoop be coming out all the way or just going to where the lens is? I am just curious because if it does not stick out from the inside would it be able to get enough air to be usefull?

My idea is to use the grey back of an old side marker light to hold the scoop. The opening would stick out and face foward. (Like a hood scoop but on the side of the car) At the track just pop out your old marker and stick in your scoop. (tucking the bulb and fixture out of the way, of course)

That would probably help a bit, but not much. You need a wider opening (i.e. fog lamp removal).

Yeah Kev is right. This is a principle of CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) In terms of AIR. Now if you have a 3" pipe with a sort of 1-1.5" opening, you will never get enough air in there to allow the full use of the 3" pipe. Basically you gonna have major bottle-necking.

Need to go to possible the fog lamp. But then again, you also need SMOOOOOOOTH bends in the pipe, anything harse or tight bends also cuts down on the amount of air that can flow quickly and effienctly through there.

on my 4th gen i used to remove the fog light and it was like a huge ram air scoop when i was at the track, i think it might work on a 5th gen also, much easier
