Red Mud Flaps/Splash Guards

What do you guys think? I finished em up yesterday. I was going to do white but I think red flows better.

Looks better with no mud flaps at all, IMO.

I guess.

I detail a lot though and the paint underneath is faded and overly oxidized. It would kill the look of the car.

If I were you I would paint them the same color as the car. The way it is now, it looks like you put mudguards off another car on yours.

Interesting? Did you ever wonder why most people have them painted to match? Because it looks so much better!!

you'd gotta be on some good stuff to have them non painted. I dont think Nissan/Infiniti, or ANY dealer would approve of doing something so stupid.

Hmm, i didn't think parts from a civic would fit on a Maxima. Since you ask for opinions...paint them to match, or get rid of them.

Lol you guys are all so sad. Im not going to conform to everyone's "standard:

"Oh no paint them the same color zomg what ru doinggg1111!!!!!?"

Painting them the same color is ****ing boring everyone on this mother ****er paints them the same color

/snoooze

dont hate because im trying to do something original and everyone here wants all the same ****.

it flows because the stock rear side markers are red therefore making the mud flaps red it flows. sorry you all are too slow to comprehend such an overly complicated design

/sarcasm

i just love how half the kids who post on here just hop on the bandwagon instead of posting something reasonable. the only person who posted reasonable is scottwax so i praise you.

the fact is i know your all hating because at the pump today two people complemented me on my ride and said they wanted to buy a 5th gen after seeing mine.

so dont bother posting and wasting my time unless you are going to be constructive like scottwax.

if you want do something that worth looking on your car, change the wheels, tint the windows. nobody's gonna interested in your unmatched splash guard.
it's like wearing a pair of nikes with prada shoelaces on them.
buy anyways, if you like it, it's your choice, we just giving you opinions.

Well... first of all you asked what we think and the consensus or "standard" is that red guard is hideous (or at least that's the vibe that I'm getting).

It might be "boring" to have body color, but it's subtle and clean that way. Strictly IMO.

My suggestion is that if you want to be different, try other colors that are complementary to your body color instead of finding a small portion of red and thinking it will flow. I do get that the rear sidemarker is red, but that doesn't justify (to me at least) that red guards will "flow". And let's just say it did, what about the front? This is not connect the dot where rear sidemarkers flow to the rear guards and rear guards flow to the front guard. I believe you need a lot more than a little red sidemarker to put this off [IMO]. Maybe this link would help
Also if you are firm on red, perhaps you would consider doing just red from the crease and below so you dont have that weird looking red shape on the side of your car.

I wasn't on the bandwagon myself. I actually saw the picture and immediately my "wth" alarm went off. And if you can see, I actually took my time to explain to you why I was against it. So I would you hope appreciate my feedback even though it's negative.

5th gen is a nice grocery getter. And hopefully it wasn't said out of sarcasm.

I do agree comments were a little rough, but you did ask us what we think. You should edit your post and specifically ask for positive/constructive comments if you can't really handle our negativity of your creativity.

Since you did, honestly right now it looks retarded. Tan interior, stock exterior minus the yellow fogs. It doesn't even really match anything on the car except the rear corners and somewhat the SE tails. If you are going to do a bunch of red stuff, execute it right.

Why would you even do that???
It matches the side marker light... but only the rear one. You should have painted the front mudguards ORANGE to match the front side marker lights

Don't post a thread asking for people's opinions if you don't want to receive negative ones. My negative opinion: it looks horrible and I really want to know what would make you even want to do it.

If they were silver, I would say okay...but red is too much of a clash...

Whatever color you choose, paint your brake calipers to match.

Dear Mr. TeH BawNeY

There seems to be some confusion over your pont of view on how others see your car. You asked for opionions on your latest endeavour yet when things aren't to your standards you get hostile. I see the problem, your name is that of a paper towel which i use to wipe up dog poop when my swifer is emply. which is just how your red mudflaps look.

Now i can see how this response may cause you to want to react in a non positive way, i emplore you not to. It could get ugly.

Thanks for your time.

Sincerly

I actually saw someone driving a silver maxima with a scoop on its hood, also there was a huge dent on its back door("ricing" gone bad).
