Clicking/clunking after start up when engine is completely cold.
Hey Guys,
I have an 03 SE with 57XXX on the clock. My engine bay makes a short series of "clicking" or "clunking" noises only upon start up while the engine is COMPLETELY cold. The clicking lasts maybe half a second. The sound is definitely a sort of a clicking sound, but it kinda has a little bit of a clunk-ish tone to it as well. Whatever it is, it does not sound good. When the engine is warmed up, the noise is not present. Any idea guys? Thanks in advance.

a lot of people on here have the same problem and i believe it is the timing chain tensioner sprocket and happens because at start for just a second it isnt lubricated. once the oil gets to it, the noise goes away.
For the most part it isnt a problem but it might drive you crazy, i know it would drive me crazy. i think i changing to synthetic helped with this problem for some people
