need help with IACV light Symptons in message!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are my symptons:

Check engine light is on Reads P0505 idle air control valve
When cold the car seems to run PERFECT, after i get it to idle.. Full throttle etc... high rpms etc..

When warms up, wont go past 3k... sometimes i'll turn it off and start it and the first rev goes up past 3k easy, then second on wont.... sounds like a rev limiter...

Was thinkin IACV but costly if it is... I did pull it out and cleaned it, to no avail..... Or maybe its the fuel filter cuz sometimes I cant start it unless I hold the gas pedal down all the way and crank it... Only does that every once in a while.

anyone know what this problem might be.. limited budget as well...

you've known the problem, fix it and then see what happen.
the engine won't go past 3k is more likely the MAF, and hard start is because the IACV.
you can try to clean them first.

Auto Parts stores can test the IAC. You did get a code for a bad IAC so the smart thing would be to test it and then replace it if need be. Then move on to your next problem if that doesn't take care of it.
