Fog Light Relay Problem?

I have a 2k Max. I got HID's in my fogs but they both just went out at the same time yesterday during a storm. I tested both the fogs and ballasts indivually and they all work but it just won't work when i turn on the fog switch.

I know there is a fuse under the steering wheel, which I checked and is still good. Is there any other fuses? Also, I got a relay for the HID in the fogs. Can that be the problem?

Last question, How much does a relay cost if I don't want to make one? Thanks in advance.

for my car, fogs only work with low beams. if I turn high beams on, fogs will off.

is there a way to check the relay in the relay box on the passenger side near the window washing fluid? I've narrowed it down to that relay and the relay harness I used.

what do you mean relay harness you used?

if there is another relay in the equation OTHER than the original nissan relay, then that aftermarket relay may have gotten wet

Have you checked the relay harness fuse and the relay itself? That relay you can buy a replacement at any auto store.

Yea, I used another relay because everytime i turned on the fogs, it blew the 15a fuse, so i had to put an AFTERMARKET relay in place to draw power directly from the battery. You're right, it may have gotten wet because I went through a big puddle this weekend.

The wire going to the + on the battery will contain the fuse holder.

yea that happened to my fogs also and my relay went because it got hit by water

what i did was put it in a small baggie, the food baggies.....and put a zip tie around it with a new relay....buy the exact type of relay on ebay...thats what i did...i purchased a box of them on ebay

just make sure u secure the relay in such a way that it does NOT get wet

yea, i'll do the bag thing too if it does happen to be the relay. anyway, i think i'll be buying a whole new relay harness anyway for $15. funny thing is i put silicone on all the holes and nookies so water can't get in, but apparently, that didn't work.

If I was to replace the whole thing, will this work?

So you confirmed that the fuse is OK? Wiring itself don't usually go bad, fuses and relays do. If fuse was OK, next step is to swap the relay with a new one from ANY auto store for $5.

I will confirm when I get home, but what type of fuses are usually in these harnesses? Are they the same as the ones that I use for the car, 10a, 15a, etc?
