Sound when car is in reverse
Has anyone experienced this problem. After my car has sat for a while, I noticed that once I put it in reverse, I hear a rumbling noise coming from the transmission when the car is put in reverse. It will continue to make that noise until I put it in another gear. I did a search and I see someone in a 4th Gen had a similiar problem, but no one seemed to have any ideas.
I have an 02 SE with 115K.
Any ideas of what this may be. Should I put a lot of concern in this?

i get that sometimes...only when i don't warm up my car in the morning...well usually i don't warm it up anymore, i just drive slow till it gets warmed up. but yeah when i start the car and i put it to reverse i'll hear a rumbling sound and feel it slightly vibrating...then when i put to drive it goes away. only happen sometimes tho.

Check your CV shafts. It is common for them to grind while backing up when they are shot. Look at the outer boot for sighs of cracking. If they are to the point of making noise there will surely be grease all over the inner wheel area.
