Extended Warranty Opinions

I seen this ad for extended warranties online so i signed up to have them contact me and they gave me a quote of $1,800 for all major components and labor with a $50 deductible 5yrs 60k additional miles (I'm at 78k now). That all sounded good to me so i asked for him to send me the legal contract stating the terms and fine print etc before i commit to buy. He told me it requires a $300 down payment for him to get the paperwork because he goes through a 3rd party to get it??? He refused to send me ANYTHING in writing before they got my credit card information. I asked to speak to his manager and his manager told me the same thing and when i refused to give my credit card information he called me a moron and told me he is going to go online and make so i cant get an extended warranty through anybody all because i refused to pay before seeing the fine print (the company is access warranty btw) I looked them up and they do seem legit but i feel uneasy like i might get hooked into a rip off that i cant get out of. I googled them and found numerous complaints "won't return phone calls when i need work done", "do not buy this warranty", "worst warranty for vehicles" etc

I'm just wondering who on here has purchased an extended warranty and what is your experience? I definitely want a warranty but not from these guys.

Wow.....this company is BOGUS! What's their name?

There are many reputable companies out there. WarrantyDirect.com is a good one, and they have a good standing with the BBB.

My father had extended warranty from them when his tranny went out. He paid his deductable and new tranny was installed. No questions asked.

I wouldn't do business with anybody that calls me a moron, even if he didn't it sounds like bad customer service already, and you're not even a customer yet!

My personal opinion is to find a personal mechanic, you're not driving a bmw. Having said that, every car make has their horror stories, but the odds are on your side on this one.
