I had that same code too. All I did was check the gas cap and reset the code. No more code. Also you may want to check the evap canister and hoses.

Go with the cheapest route first. Check the hoses and make sure none are cracked or loose. I remember seeing a post with a price of the canister. I'll see if I can find it.

I just got off the phone with Nissan and they said the part is $215. The labor shouldn't be bad if you did it yourself. A few bolts and hose clamps and done. Hope this helps. If you know someone at a dealership the part may be a little less.

When I had the P0455 code I reset the light a few times and each time it took about 5 to 7 days before the CEL came back. But it did keep coming back on.

Did you physically take off the gas cap and then put it back on? When I got a P0455 code, I just made sure the cap was tight and the code quickly came back on. Next time I got gas, I had to remove the cap. Put it back on, gave it a couple extra turns and viola, no more light...and that was back in May.

If you did remove and re-install the cap, I'd get a new gas cap and also check the vacuum lines before replacing the EVAP canister.

If the code comes back again replace the fuel cap with a new factory or Stant Oem type cap, if the code comes back then you know what you need to do! Replace the charcoal canister and vent control valve...By the way...when you fill up, do you usually top off the tank after it auto stops? I was told that is the reason for the charcoal canister failure by a fellow tech!
