Owners of 2k2 w/ Nav System
OK so I test drove a 2k2 today... only had a GLE for me to test with the nav grrr... but thinking about trading my 2k in on an SE loaded.
One ? I had though... Is there any place for a single CD in the dash like on the 2k's and 2k1's if you get the nav system? I don't mind the changer in the trunk, but damn I want to at least be able to pop in a CD in the cabin if I need to.
Also, my CD changer in my 2k skips on CD-Rs all the freakin time (but the in dash player is fine with them). Have they improved that any?
All in all I was impressed. The heated steering wheel was surprisingly nice (although wish it had a low setting!) The GPS system kind of seemed like pain in the butt to set to your destination though... but that's without having read the manual, so hopefully it's easier once you know what you're doing!
Anyone who upgraded regret the decision? I've figured I can lease a 2k2 SE loaded for about the note I'm paying to buy my 2k.
oh- and does the car have Daytime Running Lights, out of curiosity. I thought that extra white light was for that, but the salesman told me know... but then again, he also told me the nav system would play DVDs too, and I just don't think he's right about that one!

I just want to make sure I can play CD-Rs... guess I'm going to have to pull some out. I'd also really like to have at least one in dash CD player. They really should have put that instead of the cassette player. Does anyone actually even use that thing anymore?!

I have the 2K2 SE with Navi and it does have a single in dash CD player along with the trunk mount changer. If you use the in dash unit you have to pull out the Navi CD but it replaces the display with a neat CD panel to play your CD with.
I haven't tried a CD-R in the in dash since I like looking at the Navi but they do play fine in the changer without problems so far.
I traded in my 2K GLE for the 2K2 SE and I don't have any regrets.

I've been playing with the Nav unit all weekend. I just bought a fully loaded 2002 Merlot GLE on Saturday. :-)
