Nismo 05-08 Intake on a 5th Gen?

I have a 01 AE Max and my Buddy has an 02 SE Max. We were looking at these 04-08 Nismo Intakes and cant help but wonder why they wouldnt fit on one of our cars. I did a couple searches and didnt find anything.

Am I missing something? This is the one I am referring to:

1ST!

i highly doubt it would fit without modification. aka cutting of sheet metal. who cares about it anyways?

there are plenty of cheaper intakes availible that fit FINE with 0 Modification. and it's just an intake aka it makes alot of noise and you think you're going faster but in reality you're just as slow as before...

Na, I know the intake doesnt do any good. I am going JWT Flywheel, JWT S1 Cams, Cattman Headers w/ Catman Full Exhaust, and I just wanted to round it out with some kind of an intake because I cant afford the S/C at the moment.

I will just grab the Injen

Get something cheaper that'll fit perfectly.

wow, you're doing all that and then you're going to combine it with the absolute worst possible intake for 5th gens - the Injen.

great plan.

I like my Injen. Even though it isn't a true CAI. Oh well.

For the 5th gens, it puts the filter in the WORST possible location. WAI > Injen. The Place Racing CAI was designed better in the aspect, but is not sold anymore.

NOW you're talkin power... but seriously man, just get an intake that's designed for the car. I understand that the name "Nismo" seems better because it's endorsed by Nissan, but you can get a product just as good that's guaranteed to fit your car. Stillen makes a good short Ram, and they have a very good reputation. You can make a MAF-TB pipe easily. But if you're dead set on experimenting with the injen, then let us know how it turns out.

Berk w/ Apexi filter provides a solid short ram design with the best filter (both flow and filtration) on the market. Dry element also for those scared about the MAFs. It's not proven that K&N oil has effected them, but its one more step of safety.

you can buy a pr style intake on ebay still. it's the best AFTERMARKET intake available. but at the end of the day it's still that just an intake.

i installed the injen intake, but first i wrapped it in header heat wrap and it dosn't get hot at all. i also cut a hole in the bottom of the plastic road shield for cool air to enter from the bottom.

take a look!

the nismo intake will fit, but you have to move the battery, battery tray, fuse box, and cut a hole for the intake to enter behind the fog light.

idk about what a 5th gen injen looks like(i have an idea obviously) but it's easy on a 4th gen to place the filter to the side of the rad not in front of it, you just twist the pipe. throw on a heat shield on the side of the filter cloest to the rad and bamn your done.

is this not true with the 5th gen's?

00Lightsout: while header wrap is good, it's honestly not going to help you that much. their is better stuff on the market you could wrap the pipe with that would work better imo. also the only reason people get the injen, imo is for looks. you just covered up all the chrome!

anyone had both an injen and a berk on their 5 or 5.5 gen? i ask because on my 4th the ijen was signifigantly deeper and louder sounding then the 'berk'/WAI style. i assume it has to do with the length/bends of the tube...

Noob = Fail.

There are dyno comparisons posted here. Do a search. It's not like putting headers on or something, but intakes do make a few hp/tq, depending on which ones you use.

This is a fact.

Ok so they add very little hp/tq. Nothing noticeable until you get a dyno done.

Haha no. My mod is strictly for sound. Don't get it misunderstood.
