i replaced mine about a year ago due to being cracked n the hiway. I replace both as one looked real nice and new and the orig, well you could tell was not knew. Im happy with mine. Has fit perfectly with no problems. Only thing i did which was more work was go to home depot and got some 1/8 inch plexi and cut it to the shape of the glass and them siliconed it to the face. I let it sit about 2 days then put it back on the car. No more cracking or anything. If you do do it make sure you have it siliconed good or you will get water between the glass and plexi.

did the plug fit right in without you having to do any kind of wire splicing?

and do you have any pics of what they look like?

Get the ebay ones, they will crack again. I've replaced both of mine about a year ago, and the passenger side was cracked about 2 months ago, maybe longer. I just noticed the driver's side one this past weekend. I will be replacing them again with the ebay ones. A little under 100 bucks for both, and for something that will need replacing. Unless you go the plexiglass route which might not be a bad idea if it does not disturb the light output and pattern. btw, I have 50 HID fogs.

Yeah an Orger bought some of those cheap a$$ crap to my house to put the protective film on ...the height adjustment screw is a hard to find phillips screw instead of the hex head bolt found on the Oem fogs. The lense is thinner than the Oem cause the SOB cracked from the bulb heat...not a FOD strike! Buy the foglight kit from Courtesy Nissan or ABC Nissan it's less expensive as a kit than individual foglights and it's the real thing!!!!!

I bought one from this seller "edixworks" off of ebay about 2 months ago. The fit and finish were excellent, and it was plug and play. I paid $52 shipped, and 2 months later all is well still! Forget that $150 one from the dealer.

yea the plug had to be cut off and the oem one soldered on. Not a hard job at all. The only hard part about the plexi is making sure you dont crack it while working on it. I had put duc tape on it so it was less prone to crack and i cut it with a hack saw and them used a grinding wheel to finish the oval and smooth the rough spots. There will be some residue left when you take off the tape but rubbing alchohol will remove it. Then silicone it to the housing and let it be for 2 days so the silicone can fully dry.
Also the light was not disturbed. I was thinknig that to so i did one at a time. When i had them in the car with one plexi'd and the other not i couldnt tell a difference. I love mine and im sure they have saved the glass from cracking lots of times. I live near new road contruction and they look like new,.,

I bought a set from ebay, while the car was stuck in the garage for a few days (new driveway). I installed the lenses, turned the lights on to admire, and forgot they were on. 15 min later, i notice them, turn them off, and both lenses were shattered.

We'll see if you can make 5 years. My Original fogs were cracked 3 months after I bought the car brand new(Flying Debris). Paid about $117 from ABC Nissan for the entire foglight kit which is less expensive than buying the foglight by themselves, applied the protective lense film and they're freakin bullet proof now, and beaming down the road with 8000K HiD.....Mark your calendar, cause cause you'll get what you pay for every single time! I'm going on 6yrs real soon.....

Did you ever do a how to write up on the plexi glass? It sounds like a great idea, but it sounds kind of messy and that it may not look so good afterwards.

Also, while this thread is active, my fogs have cracked several times. Even after I put lamin-x films on them, the driver side cracked within a couple months so i am thinking its more heat related than from road debris. I am thinking about getting HID's for my fogs so my question is do HID's typically produce more or less heat than halogen bulbs? If I went from the 55w halogen to a 35w HID, could that possibly solve my problem if its heat related?

you know i never did a write up and i should have given these fogs break all the time. I can take a pic today and show you what it looks like. It is un-noticeable until your right on top of it and then it still does not look bad. It can be messy if your not patient thats why doing something like this is not to be rushed. Ill get pics of the fog later today and post up by noon. I did notice that if you lay the stock fogs on a table they sit nice and flat. The ones i bought off ebay are depos and they have a slight curve to them. Makes it a little more pita to do the plexi but not impossible, which is why much patience is needed.

i believe the hids produce less heat. I switched my fogs to 6000k hid h3 bulbs. When i say brighter its like night in the middle of the woods with no moon out to staring at the sun on a nice summer day. Mine light up the road greatly.

I've bought the ebay ones before, and they were fine. Just beware of anything under 99% or anything..."to good to be true."

That depends on the year of your Maxima, but this site would probably be a good place to start looking.
