Wiring issue?

When I drive my car my battery and E-brake light will blink on for a second or sometimes stay on for a few seconds and then turn off. This happens totally randomly and there is definitely no pattern to it. Also there seems to be no noticeable problems with my car at the moment. My battery is no more than 2 weeks old. I would think this is like 2 wires touching or something, but I have never touched my wiring except for putting my radio in, and I don't think the wires going to the radio have anything to do with the wires going to my gauge cluster. This doesn't seem to be a real problem, I don't think at least, but I thought I would ask here to see if anyone knows anything about this.

First check wiring harness of Alternator and voltage across it. It should be around 14 volts since you got new battery.
If that rules out okay then check the Alternator output current at local mechanic or Autozone.

I had exactly similar problems like yours and it turns out to be bad Alternator.

Battery will not produce more the 12.5v, alternator output should be 13.5-14v.

This is not a good test either because there is no load.

Replace your alternator.

My car is doing the same thing (2000 SE). It seems to do it more when it is cold out. The charge light and the brake light stay on for a few minutes and go out when I rev the car past 2000 rpm. I changed the alternator and the battery but it didn't help. Is there another sensor that tells the alternator when to start charging? It takes a little while before it shows 14.5 volts at the battery with the car running.

Same it just started when it got really cold out. I have not noticed if it went away though if i rev above 2k rpm, gotta try that.
