Turning radius

I had a 97 max and that had a great turning radius. It had 2001 17" SE wheels. I now have a 2000 max with 18" HP Evo 235 40/18. The turning radius is much larger on this car than my 97. I have a 2001 expedition that turns way tighter than my 2000 max. My questions is:

Is this normal? Or is it because of the wheels i am using?

I had a '96 Sonoma 4x4 that could make full turns inside our '01 Maxima's turning radius. Embarrassing.

Whenever someone drives my car I always imagine them hitting a parked car while trying to park, then I'm like ****! I'm used to it, there are worse things to complain about, like my rattling trunk ( good job bodyshop! ).

Wow, even the 05's have a sucky turning radius, I figured nissan would of fixed it. I wonder what changed in the front end in the 2000 and up models to have created this problem?

turning radius? terrible.
I need more than 3 lanes to make a u-turn.
I notice 5th gens have smaller turning radius than 5.5th gens.

Yeah it's horrible. My 95 was really good but my 02 is horrible.
I sell cars at a large dealerahip and drive around 50 different cars a month. All makes and years. The Maxima has about the worst turning radius of any car I can think of.
It's easy to forgive the turning radius when I dip into the throttle though

Agreed completely!

My gf has a 97 wrangler and i hate just about everything about it. The only thing that I am jealous of is the turning radius. I would need to make a 9 point turn for some of the U-turns she makes no problem.

5.5th gens have stoppers, 5th gens don't, and I could easily make a u-turn in my friend's 5th gen.

I've gotten pretty used to it and I can park my Maxima just like I would any other car. U-turns suck though. I think my turning radius is a tad better than stock though due to the negative camber I run.

I get to drive the 7th gen pretty often and its turning radius is waaaaay smaller and tighter than 5th or 6th gens.

The steering stop bolts (with the nylon caps) are used on both the Gen. 5 and Gen 5.5.

5th-6th gen with 17 inch rims are larger have the horrible turning radius, which was improved by a few feet on the 7th gen. 2nd-4th turned really good!
