auto insurance

Just got a max 03 with 59500 miles on it. the dealer told me to get full coverage on it. But every where i went, was too expensive. liberty wanted 9000 for full coverage a year, esurance wanted 5000 for full coverage a year. Also, i got my license in august 2006. I cant pick the car up until i get insurance any suggestions pls.

Those sir, are some serious quotes. Might as well go down the list; Geico, State Farm, Progressive, Allstate...et al.

relatively new car with power

yup, you will pay a lot of money. some quotes before you picked this car would have been smart.

and if you are financing the car, the bank requires full coverage.

Wow that seems like a lot to me. I am in roughly the same situation. I got my license in June of 05 (I'm 20) and I just got an 02 max 6 speed with 69xxx and I only pay 1500 a year for full coverage. I live in PA so I have Erie Insurance which is PA only i believe. I would get a quote from just about everybody if I were you.

Its all about how long you've been driving for and if you have (POP) Prior insurance Policy with someone. I just got quoted for 12 and change which is a little more then 100 a month. I was paying 210. My 03 66000 is paid off finally I dont have to carry crazy liability.

It was 100k,300k,100k. Now its 10k 20k 10k. That could be a big factor as well.

Also how much you want your deductible to be. Ask your agents on the phone I was surprised how nice mine was when I just called the other day.

I was going to post something on auto insurance too, oh well here it is.

Good luck

Sooner do you get better deals with how long you have had the insurances for? Also that 2100 is because you have several vehicles plus home owners insurance? (Combined policy or discount, how does that work?)

the reason mine is cheaper
1. 32 years old
2. good driving record
3. married
4. military
5. had the same company for 13 years
6. discount for multiple policies

Call an independent insurance agent, they work with more than one company and shop for you.

The biggest factors affected insurance costs are; your driving record, where you live, the vehicle you are insuring, and your credit record. Can your parents put you on their insurance policy?

Other options are Amica Insurance (If your credit rating is decent) and USAA Insurance, if you have a family member in the military. As a last resort, and if it is a viable option for you, you can ask your parents to include you in their policy, like RLW001 suggested, and you just pay them your portion of the total combined premium. Is not a good feeling when you have pay more for insurance than what you pay for the car.

Definitely look around you should be able to get it way cheaper provided your record isn't too bad from tickets and such. Good luck.

Do you live and drive in the city? Insurance rates in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, for example, are higher than if I lived and worked 50 miles west or east. Living in the city, especially in places with high illegal immigrant populations (1 in 10 Dallas residents is here illegally now!) tend to have higher accident rates and more uninsured motorists. That is simply another risk factor the insurance companies take into consideration.

Right now, I pay $563 every 6 months for full coverage including uninsured/under insured protection and roadside assistance through Nationwide. It helps that I am older and have a clean driving record, plus I have been with the same independent insurance agent for 15 years now.

Good luck youngsters! I'm with Allstate and I have two cars on that policy one is the 03 Maxima, the other is a 86.5 Hardbody and we pay $2000/yr. Stop speeding and having those accidents cause when I was 18-25 I may have spent $ 150 /mo. on vehicle insurance, but I never had any big problems like tickets nor accidents. I had friends with Mustangs spending $300-$500/mo on insurance alone. That Maxima is a discount cause it's a 4 door sedan. Really it's a 4DSC...SLOW DOWN!!!!!!!!
