Call DaveB at Southpoint Nissan.

I hope it's not for your 6.5 gen.

i will call him tomorrow. thanks guys.

and yes, it will be for my 6.5 gen.

i'm going with a black and silver max. the standard chrome "Maxima" emblem would look better in black. I have already removed the burger and 3.5SL.

My last 6th gen, i got tired of people saying nice Altima...

So with the black Maxima emblem, it will look better and keep people in check!

Are you serious with the 20th AE badge? I guess SE-R and 4DSC weren't enough that people need to stick more fake badges on.

I need a GLE-R badge!

OMG... **sigh**

okay, it looks like a need to show some of you a photo in order for you to understand this thread!

LOOK at the red circle in the picture.

That emblem i want black. I do not want to paint it! I want the "Maxima" Anniversary Edition Emblem...

makes sence to me totally. i think it will look really good. i have the se-r badge that replaced my gle badge on my 2000.

i dont have the standard, tired 2k max. i have a 2k3 front bumper, headlights, fogs, entire 2k3 stillen kit, lowered on h&r, 2k6 calipers and rotors with all calipers painted silver and 18" five star rims similar to the mille miglia evo5's with cattman cat back exhaust and se gauges witht the rings inside.

so really, everything that made it a gle has been upgraded. many people asked me if it was a special edition or sport model etc etc "i have never seen one like yours" was a common reply. lol not many are experts on maximas like we are and can identify a stillen kit or drop easily, they just know it looks better than the average max. and thats just it, i payed special attention not to make it looked "hooked up" but more like it was made that way. i then decided yes it was a special, sport model and put the se-r emblem on. it just made more sence. it looks great imho and really thats all that matters, if you like it. good luck with finding one.

Funny thread. Lots of confusion.

The OP is not refering to the badge that says "20th Anniversary". He is refering to the emblems that say "maxima" from the 5th gen SE which were black.

Gotcha, all in the wording.

I think the "Maxima" emblem will look good. However, I think if you just replaced the Nismo license plate frame with a Maxima one, it would look even cleaner. More symmetrical too.

To a previous poster, no matter which way you cut it, an SE-R badge on a Maxima does not make sense. Didn't exist, so your badging is lying to you.

Haha this was a fun read. Agreed black will look good, it will definitely stand out more. Personally you might even replace the license plate with a plain black one, I think it would divert more attention to reading the "maxima" badge. But that's just me

Oh and the SE-R badges, as stupid as I think they are on maximas, in reality, no one really knows nissans well enough to know the difference. To each his own really, some people just like having a badge on their car that is universally recognized as a "above average" car if you will.

Personally, I like the sleeper look

If only those mods make your car an SE-R, I guess with all mine my car is pretty much a GT-R.

It all makes perfect sense to me now too. So if you have a turbo then you deserve a GT-R badge. And since I have a GLE and it's pretty "R" moded and cool, I should get a GLE-R-Limited just to be special from the pack.

i do agree that they should have made a maxima se-r. i will argue that to the death.
BUT
say someone goes out and buys a Sentra 1.8S and onto it puts EXACTLY THE SAME parts from a Sentra SE-R of the same generation, it's still a 1.8S with an engine swap, a makeover, some interior parts, etc etc etc. In the same way, if you put a VTEC badge on a Tercel (Hell, even if you put a VTEC into a Tercel), it does not mean it came from the factory like that. That's what a badge implies.

OP has his answer. /thread.
