Strange Window issue
Strange Window issue
Ok, I did a search and what I found didnt exactly fit what I am experiencing so I thought I would throw this out. The last month or so I have been experiencing something off with My front dr side window. When I put it down it looks like it is pulling the inside weatherstripping down with it to the point where it will stop even if I press it down for auto. It also lets out the obnoxious squeal. i will have to press the down button a couple times to get it to go. The window goes up perfectly fine. Has anyone else experienced this at all? Is it easy to replace the inside weather stripping if that is the issue?

Sweet. I will give that a try this weekend. Thankfully its been cold here and I have a sentra that gets used as a daily driver or I would snap. Between my obnoxiously loud radar detector and now that my girl doesnt want to get in my car...haha.
you could put a grease in the track that doesn't swell rubber (anything without polyurethane i think) I wanted to cut mine out too but was afraid water might get on the inside of my door. good luck! i'm just changing mine out.
I had a loose mirror, and loose weatherstripping/squealing issue with my car when I bought it 2 months ago. There were 4 loose nuts under the triangle sail piece in the corner, 3 are for the mirror, the top one by itself tightened the weatherstripping.
i have the same issue on my pass. side front window...sometimes it will HARDLY go down at all unless i hold the stripping back...and i really dont want to cut it..and ive tried numerous times, taking off the door panel and tightening the little fasteners on the inside that hold the inside weatherstripping in place with no luck...and if i used some form of lubricant on the stripping then wouldnt it get all over the window...thats no beuno...im still trying to find out what i can do to solve this stupid issue..
does anyone know why the front windows dont go down all the way? and also on the driver window when you hit the "auto UP" when it closes, it comes down about 3/8" of an inch or so...anyone know why??
Search for the second problem, you have to do a relearn on the switch that shows whether or not the window is fully closed.
Anyone have a fix for the "drooping window weatherstrip problem"?
The window will drag down the weatherstripping (or window gasket), in the middle of the window, to a point where it binds up the whole power window motor and stops. The sticky, grippy old weatherstripping also peeled off my 20 year old window tint film so that was just wonderful.
I'll look elsewhere but delving into the Maxima service manual is another rabbit hole.
