Dimming dash lights

I had a new alternator put in about a year ago and for the last 8 months the interior dash lights will dim, or pulsate while the car is running. Doesn't matter if I'm on the highway at speed, they keep pulsating.
Also my wife says thet the Red dash/warning lights will come on sometimes. What the heck could be up. The other day I went to start the car with the remote starter and it would start then die. Is it an alternator problem or a remote start problem and would that have anything to do with the dimming lights & warning lights coming on?
I know a lot to digest, but appreciate any suggestions or thoughts.
Thanks

What warning lights? There are a lot of red idiot lights on the cluster.

Battery and brake?

Was the alt new, reman, used?

Sounds like bad battery cables/slipping belt.

You may also have a loose connection in the wiring harness this happened on mine and just pushing the two fittings together made the difference

We have seen this problem with the 3.5L engines. It is actually a failing diode inside the alternator that is going out, but working, or semi-working, at this time.
