Readjusting the seat..

Let me try to make this as clear as i can.

I want to take the whole seat and move it farther back as in re drilling the seat farther back into the body of the car. Sorry if the way i explained it is stupid. But i am a pretty tall guy and i wouldnt mind some more leg room while driving.

Now if this is possible, I have a few more questions..
1. Will the seat belts still work?
2. If the airbag should need to deploy would I be too far away from it?

Nope. Can't be doing that. Seat belt would be to far forward.

VQPOWER is right. The seat belt attach points will be too far forward.

The other problem is that there probably isn't enoiugh structure underneath to attach to. Especially on the inside. You'd have to add structure underneath to attach it to.

I have seen in some stock cars that were prepared for SCCA racing (BMW 5 series for instance) where they have extensions that attach on the original seat mounts and allow you to install racing seats and allow them to move farther back if necessary.

And they are using racing belts which have new attach points welded in so no issues with the seat belt mounts.

I'm not really sure about the airbag, but since it's really to help keep you from hitting anything forward it still will be doing that.

The other issue will be losing rear seat leg room on that side.

All in all, probably not a great idea.

If you're that tall, why dont you remove the driver's seat, and sit in the back?
Loooots of leg room, you still get a seatbelt....the airbag will have a hard time reaching you....but then again, at that distance, so will anything else possibly harmfull.
