Starting problems
My bro has a 2000 Maxima SE. Yesterday, his after market amp went out, so he checks the main fuse for the amp and it was was still good, until he accidentally touched the main amp wire coming off the positive terminal to the negative terminal on the battery, and the fuse for the amp literally melted. Luckily the main 100 amp fuse for the engine didn't go out, ONLY the 20 amp fuses for the amp. Now the vehicle has a huge drain on the battery,. When you attempt to crank over, all the dash lights turn off! The car will jump start no problem, but once the car is shut off, will need to jump start again. Every electrical accessory works, but with the key in the ON position w/o cranking it over, you can see the dash lights on, then dim for a few seconds (signifying there is a drain on the battery), then goes back to full brightness (as if the charge was coming back). Someone please help out. Thanks.
