Just as a disclaimer, I'm not talking about the 3.0 stuff that he makes, purely about the headers/Ypipe for the 5.5 gen.

How many would buy a replacement Ypipe that works with our headers and has a 3" collector>flange instead of the 2.5" that he uses now. The primary runners are 2.25" and that is pretty perfect for around 400 hp, but both going into the 2.5" restricts it a little.

I'm at a point where I feel like the 2.5" section from the collector to the end of the Ypipe is a pretty serious restriction. I'm sure there's other 5.5 gen people that are spraying, boosted, or just trying to get the most out of it N/A that feel similar.

Why don't you either graph in another merge then go to a larger collector. Or cutoff the CM 2.5" collector and get a transitional adapter from 2.5" to 3.0" weld on your 3.0" collector w/3.0" flange. I'm pretty you can get a local exhaust shop to make your dreams a reality...

Unfortunately, because most maxima owners are cheap vendors do not want to develop products for our community. I offered a vendor free advertising on my site a few days back and he was straight up and said he dealt with maxima people before and they ask a million questions and still never buy anything. It is due to this reason there is a lack of aftermarket support for our community.

On another note, go to a good exhaust shop as stated above and they should be able to make a piece for you.

Last time I intiated a group buy! About 12 loud mouths were running their yappers about they were interested. Thank God I only had 3 pulleys made....only 2 guys bought the parts and I had to purchase the last, which I didn't need... So take it from me do your thing and don't worry about the rest! If you come across something special, patent it...you may be able to market it!

How about another option on the poll that says: "Only if it showed dyno-proven HP gains over the 2.5?"

Seeing as how I already have the cattman headers (and ya'll know around how much I paid for them) and it wasn't cheap to put them in either, I would just stick with the ones I have now.

its easier to just make it custom and one off...I have a shop that does all my exhaust work, they can do just about anything I want.

I would like to see someone make Long tube headers for the FWD VQs it really wouldn't be hard to do...as I already did all the measurements, run 2.5" duals all the way back with an x-pipe

I got a feeling this has as much of a chance as a 3" catback exhaust.

Cattman 3” Catback Exhaust for 00-03 Maxima and 00-04 I30/I35 (8-10 backorders needed to begin production); $659.99 w/o a resonator (not needed for turbos, but recommended for n/a cars), $739.99 with a 22” resonator.

The likelihood of the 3" Y-pipe making it into production is pretty slim and will probably remain that way for a little while. I think 4th gens have the greatest after-market support as of right now. Us 5th gen people are going to have to wait a couple years I think.

doing one of custom stuff from a good local shop is cheaper. Its not hard to have the 3" y-pipe made if you have headers already.
