i know its been talked about here and there but most of the links i look at go to nothing....
so my question is if i wanted to do a swap .... the whole driveline (engine and trans) what would i need to buy/modify? my plans is to find a wrecked 02 or 03 and take the motor and trans out... but what els would i need to do? would it be very hard or a everything fits and it is ready to go?

Wait, what? None of the VQs have a timing belt. Who told you that?

OP: As they said, everything's the same as a 4th gen 3.5 swap, minus soldering up the injector clips.

yeah, i thought we all had timing chains inside the engine that rarely go bad

 

they do...ever heard that rattling noise at low rpms when your down on oil? That's the chain

Isn't that the chain tensioner? its mostly on the vq35's too right?

 

The rattle itself is the chain.

It's quite common on the VQ30 as well, probably more so.

 

yes but that is much more money than me spending on a parts car and selling some of the parts as well
