Issues with SECU and windows

I'm finally all grown up and I'm allowed to post in the adult section now that I got 15 posts.....anyway

I had a bad SECU according to the dealer. So I got one off here from a guy, who will remian nameless as of right now, and I installed it and now most of the problem is fixed. I still have issues with the front windows and the sunroof still doesnt work.

Is there anything that could be efffecting the proper functions of this part?
Is it a straight up remove and install type part? or is there something that needs to be programmed or adjusted or whatever?
I have an 03 V6 automatic SE....the part i got was for an 03 SE 6speed.... does that matter? I personally wouldnt think so.

When i turn the car off and then open the door, both front windows imediately roll down all the way.... I dont push anything, they just do it.

Anybody know anything? I would hate to have to bad mouth someone for selling me bad parts!!!!!

for the sunroof, make sure sunroof is closed by using the tilt button. then hold the tilt close button for 5 or so seconds. the sunroof will then reset and be good to go.

There is also a reset for the windows.

you have to get behind the door panel and find the limit reset switch

Sounds good. I'll give it a shot!

How do I manually open and close the windows if they are power windows?

You don't 'manually' do it (in the traditional sense), check the last sentence in the posted pic.

You use the window switches, but you don't activate the auto up/down feature; basically, press/pull the switch until you feel a slight pressure, which is the auto trigger.

Damn, whats the point of the "Noobies" thread if people don't chime in there about this.

This OP was asking these questions in there with no response from the above people.

It serves a purpose, mostly for newbies (hence the name) to ask a question if they don't have enough posts to make a thread.

What did you think it was for, all questions?

Didn't even notice that the OP actually is a newb

Oh ok I got it. Didnt realize it meant not to use the AUTO up/down feature.

Well I tried the sunroof thing with no luck. its closed all the way, but the hold tilt for seconds didnt work to reset it to start working again.

I'll get behind the door panels tomorrow...

Thanks for lookin out for the noobs VQ! haha

Thats definately NOT a switch. Its a rubber button, with NO electrical connection at all. It did not reset my windows.

Anyway, I was looking over the warranty of the car, and turns out all the parts in the power window system are covered (regulator, SECU, switches, switch hub, power window amplifier, etc). So I'm bringing it in tomorrow. I'm also going to give the service writer that we used last time a piece of my mind for lying to my wife and telling her the parts werent covered last tim we took it in like 6 months ago.
