Differences btwn 02 Maxima and 02 Infiniti I35?

I'm looking to trade my Honda Prelude this summer on either a new Maxima or I35, my question is what are the differences betweent he two? I know most are cosmetic but when I went to edmunds.com and equipped both of them the way I wanted (leather, sunroof, Bose, etc) they came out very close. The Maxima I equipped was a 6spd and the I35 is obviously an automatic. How do the two compare? Does anyone have any performance stats on the two of them?

Well, my question is which would you guys rather have since they are so close in price? Which will be better in resale? How does the automatic do in those cars?

If performance is one of your primary concerns, go with the HLSD equipped 6-speed Max. If service and prestige are more important then go w/ the I35. There is really a considerable difference in performance between transmission setups with the Max/I35. Both are great cars, but, for more "fun factor" I would prefer the 6-speed SE Maxima w HLSD. Get the FSTB and RSB mods if you like to take corners fast.

when i test drove the 02 Maxima with full options, it really felt like driving an I35..it was really quiet and the car was equipped with many features such as the memory seats, available navigation and other host of amentities. the only thing you're missing out as far as mechanical features on the car is the rear sunshade...the Maxima i test drove was fully loaded except for the navi and was going for $26,000.

Infiniti does have better service than Nissan. you'll get free loaner cars with scheduled maintainence or other service needs.

but if you want a 6 speed manual gear box for more sprited driving, then get the Maxima. if you want more luxury, comfort and better service, then get the I35.

That has to be the funniest picture of a civic that I have ever seen.

That Civic must be a Type R ! Very funny. I like the Infiniti's front and rear end alot better but want something quick. I guess I'll just have to drive both. Are there any 1/4 mile figures for the six speed and the auto?
