ok so i was looking in my engine and on my intake it has a the one by the lip of the hood, and then it goes to the box but it lookes like theres a secondary inlet directly below. has anyone seen this? if i remove it will it let air flow more freely or is it important?
also has anyone tried to repaint there stock rims chrome?
thanks for the help

That "secondary inlet" you see is not an air passage. Its to collect water and pieces of junk that are sucked in with the air.
You can't paint on chrome. Chrome needs to be electroplated on. I don't know what so-called chrome paints are made out of, but it won't last very long before it peels off your rim.

No....
Injen sits behind the raditor...place racing and soon to be HTP will be the ones you cut a hole in the car for the cold air.
Now Orgullo wrote a write up as to how to make the injen a true cold air intake

i dont really know, its the first car i have that i am proud to own, other then my supercharged bonnie, but it broke down every week for 5 months, i am more worried about the engine right now though
gotcha, i thought they all cai's went in the wheel well area in the 5th gens but i guess i was mistaken
its beatable because it is an 86 berlinetta(sp?) with a 394 small block, and a 450 turbo tranny, he hasnt upped it to fuel injected and runs with a carborator, is off the line starts a slower an my old car the wagon would get a good 20 foot lead then hed catch up an fly by, but this is much quicker

BUT having said that...
First off, if your friend has built a 394 there's no way he's making just 500 hp, more like 850-900 hp. Also, it's a TH400 transmission, not a 450. With this combo, I highly doubt he's slower off any line other than the bank drive-through.
