Curious to know what the inside of Cattman's muffler looks like
So just as the title states, I wanna know what kinda muffler the Cattman is. Whether it's straight through, baffled/chambered, louvered...etc. Also, who makes it would also be helpful, or rather who has Cattman contracted the production of his exhaust components to.
I haven't been able to dig up this info anywhere nor find any pics of the inside so I was wondering if anyone in here could help me?

Well I live in the great frozen north and getting Cattman's stuff across the border means it ends up costing twice as much as what's listed on here. I had headers installed and think the car is too loud even with Cattman's resonator. I just want to know more details on his muffler so I can make a good decision on buying one up here. I can't seem to find another muffler that emits the same tone especially since I don't know what goes into making a Cattman muffler.

Do have/not have his muffler already? If you just have the B-pipe use your stock axleback and it'll be nice and quiet. Thats the only why I know of quieting down these cars with header and not losing power.
I'm not looking to completely mute my car. I love the tone of his catback combined with his headers but after spending $1700 on his headers and fastcat + install I'm trying to avoid spending another $1000+ on ordering his whole catback. Just looking for input on his muffler since I already have his resonator.
Pretty sure the muffler is straight through, easiest way to quiet things down would be finding a used Frankencar muffler. Or some other OEM muffler, when weather warms up I'm going to get a G35 sedan muffler fitted.
What he said, I call around salvage yards for G35s. iir 03-04 are the years you want to look for as they had smaller mufflers.
G35s are a dime a dozen up here so finding a muffler from one up here shouldn't be too hard but again, I think it's too quiet. The Vibrant muffler on my car now was great when I didn't have headers but got 3x louder at least with the headers. It's a straight through fiberglass wool packed single pipe design with dual tips at the end.
I just wanted to see if anyone on the org could show me a pic looking inside the Cattman muffler.

Thread cleaned up. Take it to PM if you have something to say to someone specific.
IIRC, the Cattman and Megan mufflers are very similar and are straight through. I may have some pics of my old Cattman and can take pics of the Megan when I get home.

That's the kinda info I was looking for, thanks Puppet and Hotshot as well as everyone else for contributing.
Ahmad thanks for the pics but I'm looking to stay away from the ebay stuff.

Wow thanks dude!
Looks like it's similar in design to my vibrant muffler except that it's larger which probably supresses more sound, and I'm sure it uses better packing material than fiberglass. Thanks again!

another option just in case you're looking for one is to get a larger resonator.. i'm building a magnaflow 3" catback, and with my headers on the car, i know i'm gonna need a big resonator to keep the noise down, so i went with the 30" resonator.. cattman's in 22" i believe

No way I'd give up my $165 resonator, like I said previously anything I order from Cattman ends up being around twice as much as it would be for anyone in the States. Being in Canada with the exchange rate as it is plain sucks. I may order the Cattman rear section, or I may try to find the muffler that Megan uses in their catback(I know they sell it seperately as well), since Cattman and Megan sound alike.
Also, Magnaflow uses fibreglass and rock wool for packing in their stuff whereas Cattman uses stainless steel wool and I think that makes for a smoother, more mellow tone that may be a bit louder but it's way more pleasing to the ear.

I've owned both and they are virtually identical in looks and sound. And I will get some pics at some point of the Megan, but there are previously posted pics around already if you look. Can't remember which thread though.
