14.7@93 and a 14.8@92. These look pretty good for a stock Max 02. Paul ran a 14.7@97 on his 6 speed 02. Should be interesting to see what we see as more times surface.

Wow! Great times! You're officially the first stock auto Maxima in the 14s.

Damn AUTOMAGICS.

I can't wait for a supercharger or at least NOS.

Good times. Please go over to the CL-S board and shut them up.

Excellent run!!!
I wasn't expecting to see 14.7 since that's what
Paul got with his 6spd.

Nicely done

Great times man! do you have any mods planned in the near future? what was the weather like when you ran?
i would have to take a ton of crap out of my car ('02 SE auto) and get a lot more driving experience to get those times--if you ran a few more times do you think you could have gotten 14.5 (maybe take seatsout)?

I lurk around the CL-S board once in a while; some of the
guys there are NOT going to like what they see on those timeslips.
In fact, they many not even believe what they're seeing!
Great job!

Bore it out about .5 Liter and add variable timing and intake runners. That should do it!

Don't have one!
I lurk there to read the posts, and to get wind of when
the 6spd manual CL-S is coming out. My original plan was
to test drive both a 6spd CL-S and a 6spd HLSD Max before
making a final decision, but unfortunately for me, my
beater (old Buick Regal) finally gave out. That means I
will be getting an HLSD 6spd Max as soon as it gets here.

I never registered there (I've only emailed the moderator
to get more info and a best guess release date for the
6spd CL-S). Looks like the 6spd CL-S will be coming out
next spring of '02 at the earliest.

Next spring? I hope so, because that's when I plan to get a new car.

Hmm.. i can def say those are good times for a auto Max. You 60fts are incredible! 2.2 & 2.19 are as good as the 4th gen 5-spd guys! Onec again, very nice. I think with some more practice you can pull a 14.6.

Re: My 2002 Maxima Track time

Is that the time for 0-60? (6.197) Dang!

Btw, did you try doing it w/o torque braking? The 2k2 already spins out pretty bad from a stop when you mash the gas. Unless i'm flawed in my logic i think not brake torquing would give you more traction and hopefully better times.

What do you guys think?

Don't count on it! I was told that the 6spd CL-S would be out
in the fall of this year (yes, that should be around now).
Acura has a 6spd CL-S test car that they had been testing in
the LA area a month or so ago, but for some reason they've
seemed reluctant to make the 6spd manual available for sale.
I heard that they're worried that manual transmissions will
not sell very well.

0-60 is ......

Using DesertPearls 0-60 Calculations...

That time slip would mean his 0-60mph is 6.635 sec..

That's smokin for an automagic!

Great Times!!

BUT, that is the final straw - stock auto max running the same times as my modded 5spd. I smell nitrous.

My first run without brake torquing left me bogging from the line. I ran a 15.02 and I didnt tree shift it.

Re: My 2002 Maxima Track time

Those times are great. The best I did on my auto 2k2 SE was 15.2 @ 89mph. I'm wondering now if something's wrong with my car or I just sucked driving.

Very nice! Once I learn how to launch my car, I should be down to low to mid 14's. 2.1... that's a fantastic 60 ft time. I was getting 2.4-2.6. Yeah I know... pretty lame. Learning to drive stick all over again.

Paul didn't you run something like 97mph? That is insane mph for a max, with a couple of mods you might break into the 100's!! Holy smokes, put a SC on that bad boy and you would have a total sleeper!

It may have to wait until the Spring. Most of the tracks are closed now. I might sneak up to NJ, which I think has a track opened all year.
