Ebay Retrofit

Well i was looking at ebay and i think i am going the route of a retrofit.
I am looking at these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-01...spagenameZWDVW
but i just thought. If i were to put the tsx projector in there would a h4 HID kit from operatic fit in there?
Also would i need to get a high beam bulb to put in the high beam area, if i do what would happen with my halogen high beam that came with my HID kit?

Thanks,
L

there is a stickied HID thread in the 4th gen section that points to the disadvantages of HID kits in our housings. To the OP, you are starting to go on the right track toward a retrofit. The TSX projectors would require a D2S bulb. You can get the AMP to D2S wires from E-bay so you can still use your kit ballasts with D2S bulbs

You may want to hold on for about 2 weeks. I plan to purchase these on 2/20/09 for the clear shield/lens, I have no use for the housing or the remainder of the headlights. My driver side headlights got cracked driving behind an idiot here who didn't clean the ice/snow off the top of there car and it flew off and hit my headlight. You let me know which one you want, the black or chrome lights and that's the one I will purchase. I will sell the rest to you for about $125. Let me know.

So what would happen if i were to put a h4 kit in there?

So you would have the whole ebay housing but without the clear lenses on both sides or just the driver side? Also how bad is the crack?

I will take the clear lens off both just so that the match. I don't want one looking brand new and the other dull. The crack is bad enough that my drivers side headlight is fogging up. You can use your current lens over the housings.

the main problem with that would be that the light from the arc will be in the wrong position, and the projectors will not be able to use all of the light. You will most likely notice a nasty looking cutoff, or bad light coverage on the ground.

If he had the 5.5 HID housings he could use the same lens, but with the 5 th gen halogen housings the lens is different. Near the sidemarker there is a slight indentation in the lens that will most likely make them useless for the projector housings.

I put TSX lenses in those same lights and am using H3 HID bulbs...you are only changing the lens not the entire headlight assembly so why would you try to use a H4 bulb? Is it because of the HI/LO feature? IMO you will have severe cutoff problems and output issues as was stated earlier.
