which wiring /terminals are important to install the Utec into a 5.5 maxima?

IIRC, it'll just be similar to the Emanage Ultimate... basic ones would be:

Injector signal (for all cylinders)
Ignition signal (for all cylinders)
MAF
TPS
Knock
Power (probably ECM power)
Ground (probably ECM ground)

I'm sure there are more.... I'll see if I can find a good thread.

And because the UTEC is set up for a 350Z/G35 type ECM harness, you'll need to do some remapping using the Z33 wiring diagrams.

dude its a lot more complicated than that.


if u have a 02 max ECU u have to compare the max pinout to the 350 pinout and figure out what is what. obviously the wires arent in the same order/layout........


one of those measure twice and cut once deals here...

soo now ur trying to put the 350 plug on the engine harness????

if so. then it does not matter what wires the utec uses if all are going to it ne way


sooo umm did u hook the right utec wires into the max plug??????

 

noo the pic is old. i cut all.

and now i need only the the right pins to connect the utec. NOT fully plug and play! I need only the once wires.....

The Z33 DE doesn't have an RPM output at the ECU, the UTEC uses other means to determine RPM.

Well have you checked why it's not starting? Fuel, spark?

What map are you on?

i have connect all cable new, complete new wiring and i think its all correct connect....

spark, injectors Walbro pump runs before and not with the utec now....

I have install the 2.8 software on the Utec... map? i switch it on position 0, the utec use the original specification from max ecu or?

I dont can connect the utec with my laptop... i have windows vista installed and dont works... Windows vista dont have hyper terminal... which program can i use for perfect work/connection under windows vista?

I ahve a 02 max engine with following mods:

- 350z complete intake manifold
- 350z injectors
- 350z thermostat
- iridium sparks
- 350z fidanza flywheel
- exedy stage 1 clutch

Have you triple checked all of your connections, and pinouts?

 

Just found out that with Vista, you have to make hyperterminal active. You might have to go into the control panel or windows settings and turn that feature on. I didn't think that it had it either, but my roommate found it. Probably want to google search that one.

Sounds like your pinouts are wrong. Remember you need to get a wiring diagram of the 350z ECU and one of the maxima and match up the pinouts. The way I did this was to make a chart with the things I needed IE what puppetmaster listed:

"Injector signal (for all cylinders)
Ignition signal (for all cylinders)
MAF
TPS
Knock
Power (probably ECM power)
Ground (probably ECM ground)"

then put a column for 350z pins and another for maxima pins, then write down which ones go to each. From there you can isolate the 350z pins/wires that are on the UTEC and connect those to the correct wires on the maxima harness/ECU.

You mean P0335?

The Z33/A33B CKPS' are identical.

More than likely you damaged the CKPS wire, or tapped into it incorrectly.

if your getting crank pos sensor code. then check that pin, and the wire..



and my 02 max actually ran with out a crank pos one time. so idk if utec will allow that. but some how my car did. it just took 20 seconds or so of cranking.

 

Yep, they'll run just fine without a CKPS on there, but IME it'll take forever to start up (reverting to getting timing info from the CPS', my best guess), you'll have no tach, and it'll be down on a bit of power (disables CVTC and reduces engine power on purpose, I believe).

I have download the base map and parameters from TurboXS
And install the 2.8d version....

must i modify any settings into the base map or is the base map so ok?

 

Can you provide a picture or 2 of what exactly you have going on there? With the wires spliced from the UTEC and 1 of where it's actually connected to the ECU.

 

that dont matter, if the utec is on 0 which is stock ECU,

if the car dont start/run on map 0 then its a wiring problem
