Aftermarket replacement parts?

Does anyone have good experience with aftermarket replacement parts? I'm looking for hood, rad, AC condensor and headlights for my '02 SE. Cheap (compared to OEM) is nice but I'm looking for something that fits right.

Thanks,
Jeff

I got a Koyo radiator for my 97 from one of the org sponsors, regularly $350 for $150 + shipping. From reading posts here on the org, the Koyo gets good comments. I just put it in about 10 days ago and it was a perfect fit, everything lined up just right.

Go to the For Sale forums, Group Deals. Its the second post dated in 2006.

My car was recently rear ended and I am in the process of the ins comp fixing it. The ins only pays for aftermarket parts and the first "aftermarket" bumper skin was defective. The edges were good in some places and bad in others. Almost like the mold they used was poor or the person using the mold didn't know what they were doing. The edges are slightly rounded on a factory bumper, and on the aftermarket one they were rounded in some places and flat in others, almost like someone took a hot iron to them and melted the edge. Also, the spots where you mount the rear marker lights weren't cut out very well. Needless to say after several conversations with the shop and the ins comp, they agreed to put on an OEM bumper skin.

If you are like me and can pick out any flaw, I would inspect any molded parts before buying or at least buy from a place that would allow you to return if you don't like the quality.

i bought replacement parts that were aftermarket that were good but i do know that there are aftermarket parts that dont fit exactly so you have to be sure where you are getting them from and that they will fit right you can find used oem parts that are cheap to on ebay or car-part.com

Start hittin' the junkyards. The best replacement parts with the best fit are used OEM parts. Look in the classifieds. People are parting out vehicles, seems like daily. You could score your parts relatively cheap compared to dealership prices, and have the peace of mind knowing they will fit.

I've been looking around the yards here. The parts I need aren't really available.

I don't recommend aftermarket body parts for anycar but thats just my humble opinion. After seeing some of the junk that my friends bodyshop gets that has to be modififed to fit i'd rather pay the extra for the oem replacement parts. Just have the body shop guy put in a good word for you with the ins. adjuster...

Safety related parts, use OEM. To make sure things work as they were intended. Non-safety related, afternarket is OK.
