Miles required after SES Codes Cleared
Hi All,
I recently had the Service Engine Soon Light (Check Engine Light) come on in my 2002 Maxima. It was an O2 sensor.
Ofcourse this light came on the same month my inspection is due.
Anyway, I replaced the sensor and cleared the code. Everything looks good for now.
My question is, how many miles are required (roughly) for the ECU to have enough datapoints to pass an inspection? I do not want to head into an inspection and fail because I haven't driven enough yet.
Unfortunately I've only got about 50 miles on my car since the repair was complete.

Unless you perform the drive schedule exactly, it's only a guess.
Most people have success with 200-300 miles, but you may need a lot less. Anyone with a code reader can tell you if the monitors have been set.
