5.5 gen camber ?

so i'm looking to drop the max a bit-either the search is down or there's really little chatter about it but i'd like to know...how necessary is a camber kit. looking for any info about this as i've heard too many conflicting stories.

much appreciated!

Its not needed. The rear is not adjustable and the front gains very little camber.

how much camber can we have on the front before we have to start worrying about tire wear? I'm not thinking ricey looking 5* or anything, but I'm thinking of getting a 1.5* kit for the front.

I just dropped 1.25" and aligned perfectly within specs with no camber kit. IIRC its only needed for 1.5+ drops.

At 1.25" drop, what was your camber?

I plan to lower, and would like camber bolts to increase negative camber rather than remove it. Somewhere around -1.5 degrees as knight mentioned, would be nice.

You'll be fine at 1.5*, toe in/out eats tires faster than camber, so as long as there straight you'er good.

So what about when you use Progress spring which drop the front 1.7"? That is what I am putting on along with Illuminas when they get here later this week. Don't want to buy unnecessary parts and I know nissandrvr and I have been talking alot about this.

you only need the alignment kit if you are out of spec after the drop. Or if you want to go out of spec after the drop.

If you do a quick search you'll see that with progress springs the camber will still be within factory specifications. I found this out after I bought my camber bolts though.
