i went 2 local stores,

store #1 car tunes in north bergenNJ, this guy was mad cool, anyway, im like yo
is there any other intake than Stillens for a 2kmax
he showed me a book of stillen, and its a 2 piece thing.
he said this is what ur paying like 250 for.
then he was like, i could get a genuine K&N air filter thing and a similar ring thing that it connects to for like a third of the price, but it wont say stillen. so im still thinking bout what this guy said. but anything is better than stock he said, i at least agree on that.

store #2Motorsport46 in hackensack
the only intake system for the 2kmax right now is the Stillen, u want it, 300 bucks. anyway this guy was stupid yo, i dont even want to get started how condescending this guy was!!! ahhhhhh ( i guess its because most of the customers they see are like gs300 owners and beamers.

You can get the JWT Popcharger from Courtesy Nissan http://www.courtesyparts.com for about $85 (I think). As far as I can tell these are all about the same thing.

My net connection here at work is having a pisser of a time with name resolution. If you go to http://www.courtesyparts.com and search for popcharger you should see a picture of it. As far as I know it sounds like the same thing as the Stillen intake.

The popcharger performs the same as the stillen version... do you want to pay more, or less?

fabricate it dooodeee

it's not to hard to make. just get a metal tube not that longto mount the filter, a metal plate and cut a hole in the middle drill four holes to mount it, bring it into a machine shop tell them to weld it, if not midas can too less than 30 bux. total price would be less than 40. you can even ask for scrap metal tubes at a hardware store. or a scrap metal plate about .5 inch or .25 inch thick. and there u go. if u don't wanna pay more fore weld.. hahah use silicone, works the same, sounds the same, cost no where close to the same. if you want it to be all shiny tell the machine shop to polish it too. (no clue how much) sorry if i'm cheap and like to make my own things. hahahaah

swirls

i forgot to say. if you don't like that swirly sound during idle, u shuld get a cai. incase u're not familiar with the swirling sound, it sounds like a vacum cleaner without the motor sound. i personally hate that sound.

i also forgot. since you're taking out the plumbing and all the factory stuff you should build if not have someone build u a heatshield. it's not hard either. get sheet metal, tin scissors and go from there. and when u get real good you can fiberglass a hoodscoop on you hood. but make sure you have holes on the bottom of teh heat shield or something to prevent too much water from getting sucked into yuor engine.

Roger Roger.. U sound like a frustrated Customer. things not going your way? OK check it.. as far as the fabrication and all the wending going on in the above post.. I got a simpler solution. go down to a Car Place.. tell them U need the plate that mounts a K&N to nissan Cars. $5.. has the 4 holes on it and has the tube to strap the filter on.. $45 U R done ready to jam.

Stillen doesn't have a cat-back yet (unless they're lying to me)... and they've holding off on the auto SC's because of the fitting problem (ask DMan about that one).

At least we have some companies making products for us

You should have been here back when I was trying to get them to make some parts for the 3rd Gen when my brother and I were modifying his 93 Maxima. Talk about really feeling it in the wallet. At least now we have a more secure backing that allows us to have these parts made at a better price. Not to mention other people that have undergone actions to get parts prototyped (me with RT cat and Stillen SC, Cattman with his coilovers.....) There has been a lot of progress over the years as far as the number of parts coming out for the Maxima and the number of people that are selling them for lower and lower prices. Don't get discouraged by the prices, they will go down in due time as long as we keep a stable demand for them.

jgadlage: forgot to mention this... people have put on HKS and Apex'i mufflers. So you can add that onto your list too.

mufflers

actually almost any muffler will work. even turbo ones. just gotta custom weld. if u want it to be a bolt on it'll cost a lil more. they chop off the stock flange on the muffler and weld it on the aftermarket muffler. and weld on hangers to mount the muffler. but won't work as well as a muffler designed for the max. altho it mite sound like it

I think the HKS might be a bolt-on, but I'm not too sure. No idea on the other one...

note

it's gonna b hard to do a dual exhaust job on a 2k max, the lil box on the left is a fuel pump. can't really move that. i personally like the stock exhaust. nice and quiet so my system would sound better. gonna paint it black with engine paintsoon too. remus fits well on the maxima
