AE RSB Installation Differences
AE RSB Installation Differences
Well the end of the this story is that I successfully installed my Stillen RSB today. I used both Paul6spd's and Stillen's instructions at once. I appreciate the great install instructions, Paul.
Here's the problem. Below is a picture of the installed brackets from the RSB. Directly below the top bolts, behind the bracket is the metal covering for the ABS line. This line was mentioned in Stillen's instructions and clearly shown in Paul's pictures (below picture credit to Paul):

Well, the metal covered ABS line doesn't exist on my AE. Instead, there was an L-bracket with a clip to hold the exposed ABS line in place. The L-bracket is located directly where the rear RSB bracket needs to be and obstructs its proper installation since it extends over 1" away from the trailer arm. After staring, cross-eyed, at my trailer arm, Paul's instructions, and the Stillen instructions
for about 10 minutes I went to get a pair of pliers and went medieval on my car. Removed the ABS line from the L-bracket and bent the L-bracket down flat against the trailer arm. After this, the RSB bracket fit snuggly, leaving plenty of space for the ABS line to move freely. The space machined in for the metal covering in Paul's picture is where I ran the ABS line.
So, no I didn't take any pictures beacause I didn't have a camera with me. However, I think you can guess what I'm talking about. Has anybody with an AE done an RSB install with the same result? Anybody else?
Either way, the RSB is on and I like it already. Thanks again for the great install write-up, Paul.

Could it be a difference due to the LSD on the AE? Maybe when the '02 HLSD's ship, they will have the same issue.
search!
there are lots of posts on this, the 2000 is different from the 2001 (not just the ae)the abs bracket is different
quick summary of your options
1. cut tab off abs bracket
2. bend tab down on abs bracket (what i did)
3. get abs bracket from 2000
4. remove abs bracket in total (stillen said it is safe)
