Adding TCS, a few Q's

I'm taking all the necassary parts off the donor car in order to put TCS onto my car. I installed just the switch (the wiring was already there) and the gauge cluster which currently says "TCS off." I have gone through the FSM and marked which wires I need to switch to which terminal. I have a couple of questions though:

1.) After looking through the FSM, it seems you do NOT need to switch ECU's, someone please confirm.

2.) TCS equipped cars have 2 data cables for the CAN communication (L & H) system, does anyone know what this is?

3.) Has anyone attempted this before? Do you have any tips?

4.) Is the ALL wiring already installed for the TCS system? I know it obviously is for the switch and the gauge cluster, but what about the five or so wires for the rest to work?

After I get some help with these, I will pull out the ABS/TCS module and switch it with my ABS module in my 02. I have to move 17 pins on the connector around to get signal/power to the correct terminals and i'll be golden.

Once I figure this out, it's off to figure out the heating steering wheel. Thank goodness all the wiring for the heated seats was already installed from factory!

Thanks in advance!

Wow, very interesting. Were you the one that was figuring out how to put the OEM Nav into a car that didn't have it originally?

nope, that wasn't me. Hopefully it will be as "easy" as swapping out the modules and moving the 17 pins around...we'll see.

Why not? It's pretty much free and is only gonna take maybe 1/2 a day to do all the work. This couple with my Transgo kit should make the car a lot more fun to drive.

Don't know about his answer but mine would be that it would make it easier to leave the line harder without melting expensive tires.

I know this thread is old... not sure if anyone has completed this add-on.

Question:
Are all the 2002's equipped with TCS and simply do not have the TCS on/off switch installed on the dash?

I currently have a 2002 GLE and do not have a TCS switch but I can see the TCS section on the guage cluster. I also do not recall it ever illuminating one way or the other.

I remember my 2003 GLE had the switch installed.
