Ball Joints

I went to the dealer to get my oil changed and to get my wheels balanced. He showed me later that my steering wheel shakes because one of the ball joints is broken.

has anybody used these or knows anything about these?

Would it be better for me to buy them from the dealer?

buy moog ball joints, you don't have to replace the whole control arm

I was going to do it by my self and i thought it would be easier not to press in and out the bushings. Also, the price seems right. Can you tell me where I can buy those so I can take a look at what you are talking about.

Anybody else that might have had some experience with this set on ebay?

Thanks guys

The ball joints are easier to replace than the whole control arm. And the ebay control arms are not good quality. Buy some Moog brand ball joinst for about 50 bucks each and swap them out. Dealership doesn't sell them, they will tell you (lies) that the ball joints can't be replaced.

There have been quite a few reports of bad LCAs from eBay, or the bushings/ball joints fail after a short period, or the hole for the sway bar end links are slightly larger than factory, causing noises.

It's possible to replace them without pressing them in and out, FWIW.

Interesting!! how do you do that, I am thinking that I need to do mine, I want to get the moog ones.
Actually I am thinking on doing the whole suspension I got a quick question too; Do i really need to chage the springs?? Got a 2000 SE and will get tokico blues, do not want to lower the car, so I need new springs? and beside ball joints, bushings and sway bar..... what else should I get???
Thanks

definitely go with the Moog's. And most of them have grease fittings (not sure abiut teh Max's) so you can take care of them and they will last much longer.

Good quality stuff.

to remove the ball joint, there is a spring clip which needs to be removed, then just pound it out with a hammer.
