first of all...we got the crappiest logos, interface, etc. then comes the news section, which is months over dated. such as "the new updated 2002," that has been sitting there for years! thhhhhhhennnnnn the member(ride)of the month part, i bet its going to sit there for another 3 weeks then comes another one. i mean look at the i-club.com. nice logo for the new wrx and whatever. and we got the little 4th gen logo, which looks like *hit! not the car itself, but the logo thing. i think i'm going to get the wrx just to go to their phat site. lol. jk.

Re: our site sucks!

OK, ecko, so we know what you DON'T like. I'll cut you some slack, while noting that approximately one post per week over a 9 month period of time and a profile with a lot of blank spaces in it doesn't suggest overwhelming commitment yet.

Now, for a little balance in your overall review, could you please try to get past the news headline (which has already been mentioned/poked fun at by others) and realize that a month by definition does have at least four full weeks and therefore does not yet mean Max of the WEEK. [/sarcasm]

How about your thoughts regarding quickness or effectiveness or variety in the responses to peoples' questions. Or the humor in many of the back-and-forth discussions? In other words, the stuff of substance once you get past the home page.

So far, I'm reading this particular "jk" to mean that he's just kidding about any threat to get a WRX, not that the whole message is a joking post. Had those two letters been in the final paragraph by themselves, then "jk" would have referred to everything. If that's the case and the topic starting post is rewritten to correct the vagueness of this reference then I will edit this paragraph in return. Fair's fair. As far as going "to their phat site", he's perfectly free - welcome, even - to do so, regardless of what he's currently driving.

If you learned, don't bash. As long as newbie is your title, you will be subject to more bashing than most. Part of the "hazing" process.

It may not be the perfect board as far as glitz, but who cares? I am not into special sigs and cool this or that. I am into learning and obtaining knowledge to make my vehicle better. That is what the board is here for.

If you don't like it, make your own...quit bashing "opinionating" the board and go make your own where you have all the special functions and neato stuff you need for your short attention span.

goway

I know there is a J/K but a lot of people feel the same. I myself get frustrated at the "Server is busy messages" the disappearing signatures, the home page that's updated once an eon, etc. When it comes down to it, the site doesn't cost anything for the users to use and Jambo is dishing out his money for the site. I go straight to the forums so the home page doesn't bother me. I'm also extremely thankful to have this site to converse with other max owners and just swell guys (and gals).

It all comes down to the old saying:

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Another look you could take would be the paraphrased quote from Henry Ford "Don't find a fault, find a solution." Untill you've tried to help make the site better (donated money, time, etc.) you really have no grounds to complain.

As a designer, one of the things that attracted me to this site (other than the forums, of course) was the design/layout of the site itself. I appreciate the fact that it isn't pimped-out and flashy. It's a mature, well-organized site design that is very easy to navigate. It does what it's supposed to do. i get so tired of websites where the design gets in the way of getting around in the site. I like this place.
Of course, the "busy server" thing is another matter altogether...
