BOSE Stereo Malfunction! HELP!!

On the way into work this morning, my CD player went crazy. It kept playing a CD, but right now it thinks there is not a CD in there, but there is so I can't get it out. Any suggestions, or has this happened to anyone else?? Thanks

I think a few have had such problems with the BOSE system playing CDs.... the dealer should be able to take care of it....

Dont worry dude, I'm on my 3rd Bose Headunit and I've only had the car for 1.5 years.

I had my BOSE unit replaced last week. About 2 weeks ago the CD player stopped working. Id insert a CD and the letters ERR were dispalyed. I took that to mean ERROR. I tried a few other CDs and the same thing happened. I finally took it to the dealer and they said that they dont fix the BOSE units. They had to order a new one, which they did. The new BOSE was installed in the car last week

Were you using CD-Rs or CD-RWs. I read on the manual that you are not supposed to use those type of CDs. I've seen the ERR message displayed as well. It only happened when I tried using a CD-RW.

I've never used a CD-RW, but always make my own CD-R's without any problems at all.

condensation perhaps? Sometimes mine won't work when it's cold and humid... the steering wheel controls and eject button won't work... after a few minutes w/ windows down I guess it dries out and works again...

nah i dunno what i'm talkin' bout...

I dont have the BOSE, but i still received that same ERR message when using a poor quality CD-R. Every Dysan brand cd, (i think thats the Brand name), i burned made an ERR message come up. But After I switched to Sony and TDK, I never had that problem.

Defective Bose Units

I bought a used SE this summer and I am on my third Bose Cd player. Mine scratches my CD's when it ejects them. I have had to go to a different dealer to get this done. I went to Bankston Nissan on Preston Rd. in Dallas, the service advisor was the friendliest that I have experienced @ Nissan. I am hoping this one works because I am not looking forward to dropping a couple of grand to upgrade a system that my car already has.

That's strange, mine plays all CD-Rs fine, but every so often, I'll put in a regular CD and the system will just shut off. I hit the CD button, it wakes up after a couple seconds then plays. Weird.
