Nitto 450 Extreme

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has used the Nitto 450 tires on the stock 17 rims. I saw on their website that they actually make them in 225/50R17. Please let me know how they handle in wet/dry conditions. Thanks

They suck! The wear rating is high for a high perfomance tire so stay away. They are like concrete and don't work at all in the rain as far as traction. Get yourself some SP5000 for all-seasons or SP9000 if you want a real good street tire for the summer. If the 9000s are anything like the old 8000s that they replaced then they are worth every penny.

Get 235/45s for your stock rims...they'll work fine. No tire worth buying comes in the stock size.

I have them on my 2K SE and they are great. I havent had a problem with them yet. As far as traction i think they are superiour to the potenza stocks. And there are very good in the rain

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. You will have to pay between $210 and $290 a tire depending on the retailers mood, though.

At what mileage

did you have to replace your potenzas? I am getting close to 30,000 and I am starting to see some wear. I drive hard, lots of spinning, hard cornering, etc.. but I have also taken good care of them, rotations, etc..

Re: At what mileage

Doesn't look like I will get more than 20K out of mine...not happy about the $$$ for another set but on the other hand I am looking forward to getting rid of the crap (RE92's)...

225/50R17 have very limited options in tire manufacturers.
If you are willing to go with 235/45R17, you should consider
Kumho Ecsta Supra
