Eibachs + Tokicos = Loud Noises at Full Lock

Howdy,

I think the title says it all. New springs, new shocks, and now it makes really loud noises at full lock, left and right, forward and reverse.

The shop that put them in says that there is nothing they can do.

(Yes, I spent some time looking through the FAQ's before I posted :-)

Thanks folks!

What noises are you hearing? Did they trim the bump stops?

My guess is that its the stops that prevent you from turning your front wheels past "full lock" that are causing the noise. Nissan ships your vehicle from the factory with rubber\nylon\plastic covers for the bump stops. They are known to fall off. I need to replace mine too.

The sound for me is most pronounced when I forget and back out of my driveway with the wheel at full lock. Precisely when the front wheels drop off the curbing. If I don't turn the wheel to full lock, no sound at all.

This might help as well. Looks like Nissan calls id "stopper bolt" and "stopper bolt cap."

Product SKU: 40039-A33B001

....Loud Noises...

No, they did not trim the bump stops, although I asked them to, and provided the directions that were in with the springs. :-(

As to the other posts. Thanks very much, I will investigate what you suggested.

:-)

(You guys are great. Lots of good advice in just a few hours!)
