Could these spark plugs be bad???

NGK-R PFR5G

Hmmm, wonder if these need to be changed

These plugs were supposedly changed when I bought the car at about 65k, I'm now at 100k and decided to take a look. My guess is these have been in far longer than 35k miles. Hopefully a new set will bring back some of the power that has slowly diminished over the last 2-3yrs.

Besides being left in too long, does anybody see signs of any other potential problems that might be evident from the plug condition?

Stopped at autozone to get some new plugs, but wanted to post the options here first to see what people suggest...

NGK-GP Platinum 7090 2.99ea
NGK-Laser Platinum 2647 9.99ea (I believe the PFR5G indicates this plug)
NGK-IX Iridium 5464 6.99ea
NGK-Laser Iridium 7994 (weren't in stock, not sure of price)

PS....I've searched for a spark plug thread since I remember seeing a discussion about iridium vs platinum, but since the search returns 500 IRRELEVANT hits, it isnt much help.

Those were changed at 65k? I don't know about that, but I ran on my originals (bought mine new in 2000) until the 105k per the manual and they looked like that when i changed them

Dealer told me they were changed, I should have known better. What plug did you replace with? Notice any change in performance?

Hi All. I am new to MAXIMA.ORG, just bought a 2000 SE. I can not start a new thread at this time, so I would like to know what plugs to buy to replace the ones in my car...63,000 miles on odo. What are factory and what are better ??

Thanks and I hope to soon be able to post all my other questions on y-pipes ?? headers ?? and mufflers ??
